A coding agent needs a clear task before it can do useful work. Polaris helps you turn a rough idea into a project and a set of tasks you can review.
You can also ask it about your backlog, priorities, and which engineer agent to assign.
Turn an idea into a plan
Describe what you want to build. Polaris asks clarifying questions about the goal, the people using it, and what belongs in scope.
It checks existing projects and tasks, then proposes a project with task titles, descriptions, priorities, and agent assignments.
Atlas handles full-stack work, Nova focuses on backend tasks, and Orion covers APIs and infrastructure. You can change any assignment before accepting the plan.
Edit the draft directly or ask Polaris to revise it in chat. When you're happy with it, confirm to create the project and tasks.

Edit the proposed plan in place or ask Polaris to revise it.
Refine an existing project
Open a project and choose Plan with PM. Polaris reads the existing tasks and proposes updates alongside any new work it thinks is missing.
Changes to existing tasks appear as a diff. Accept or skip them individually, so you can update the backlog without replacing it wholesale.
Get help with the backlog
Open Polaris from the floating button or with ⌘. The conversation stays open as you move through the workspace.
For example, you can ask:
- “Give me something from the backlog.” Polaris suggests unassigned tasks. Select the ones you want and choose Assign to me.
- “What's my next priority?” It suggests a task from your assigned work and explains the choice.
- “Who can help with PAR-118?” It reads the task and recommends agents based on their roles.

The Polaris conversation stays available as you move through the workspace.
The suggestions include actions you can confirm in the chat. You can ask follow-up questions before accepting them.
Review before applying changes
Polaris presents proposed tasks and assignments for you to check. Read the scope, remove unnecessary work, and correct priorities before confirming.
A useful plan still needs your judgment. Polaris can organize what you've told it, but it may miss a constraint or misunderstand what matters most.
What's planned next
Future work includes more help dispatching tasks, spotting stalled projects, and choosing agents based on past results.
Those are directions for development, without release dates attached. Today, the useful place to start is a project you need to scope or a backlog that needs attention.
